DOLCETTO D’ALBA DOC VIGLIONI 2007 Municipality: Monforte d’Alba, Italy Area of Production: Langhe, a hilly zone in the South of Piedmont Vineyard Exposition: South-East Land: clay 38,50, silt 42,50, sand 19, PH 10 Altitude: approx. 300 metres above sea level Trendrill: Pure Dolcetto Under Variety: Clones: CVT 8, CVT CN 22, and old ones with little maturating red raspi e piccioli Grafts: Kober 5BB, S.O.4, 1103 Paulsen Surface Area: 6000 square metres Vines per Hectare: 5600 Grape Yield per Hectare: 7 tons per hectare Vine Trellising System: Guyot Produced Bottles: about 2900 Selling Beginning: October Vinification: maceration on the skins for about 5 days in rotary fermentors with temperature control. The grapes are then pressed off the skins and the alcoholic fermentation and the malolactic one are completed in steel tanks. Wine is still kept into steel tanks for about 9 months. By the repeated pouring processes, the wine in the end is pure. At about the end of July the wine is bottled without filtration and fining and then settle for 3 months before being out in the market. Colour:intense ruby violet Nose and Taste : aromas of wine, fresh violets and blueberries. Tasting it, you may distinguish a final hint of almond note. Medium bodied, easy drinking to be appreciated in summer. It is considered to be an excellent, everyday wine which doesn’t fear time passing. Recommended Temperature: 15°-16° Description: easy to drink upon release, even after 3 or 4 years. Alcohol: 13.00 by vol. Dry Extract g/l: 23,60Acidity: 5.20
