Domaine Confuron-Gindre, François & Claudine Confuron

France, Bourgogne, Côte de Nuits

Sustainable

François Confuron and his wife Claudine (née Gindre from Morey-St. Denis) live at the address of #2 rue de La Tache, at the edge of Vosne (La Tache vines outside their window).  They have 10 tiny parcels of vines scattered all over the Vosne-Romanée, covering almost every sector of the appellation - truly a cross-section of Vosne, with some adjoining Premier Cru Suchots, Les Beaumonts, Allots, Les Brûlées, Les Chaumes, etc.  Their Nuits-St. Georges vines adjoin Les Boudots.  The vines are all tilled, no herbicides and wine-making is focused on terroir expression.  The wines are neither fined nor filtered. François also makes superb Bourgogne and Coteaux Bourguignons from very old vines.
