A young wine with intense amber color, a pleasantly bitter taste, strong tannins, and high alcohol. Mtsvane means “green” in Georgian, and refers to the grape’s skin color. The grapes are de-stemmed, fermented and aged on skins for 3 months.
A superior Amber wine.
Togonidze's Wine Saperavi Red 2017
A dry red wine with rich black fruit aromas. This wine was spontaneously fermented, classically made in Qvevri with older-vine Saperavi from the lower-lying Tsinandali region of Khakheti.
Andria Gvino Kisi
Made from Kisi, a rare white grape, this wine is amber, but not abrasive. Destemmed then vinified in Qvevri on the lees for 3 months.
Andria Gvino Saperavi Khashmi
45 year old ungrafted, direct-planted Saperavi, spontaneous fermentation, vinification in Qvevri, no SO2, unfined, unfiltered, from the tiny appellation of Khashmi, in south Khakheti (a rocky terroir with an elevation of 770 meters).
A burly, dense wine.
Tarasi Minadze Phersvi Tsolikauri
Not treated like an amber wine in the winemaking, instead about 90% of the grapes are direct-pressed, about 10% skins, all together in the Qvevri for a week to 10 days. Then racked into Qvevri and bottled after 6-8 months.
Grapes are organically grown, hand-harvested, indigenous yeasts, no fining, no filtration, and no sulfites at any stage including none at bottling.
