Vineyard Location: Wintzenheim on the Grand Cru Hengst Soil: marly limestone, sandstone Variety: Pinot Gris Grape-gathering: on 19th October 2004 Area of the soil: 69 ares Yield: 40 hl/ha Manual vintage: yes Analysis of the wine Alcoholic strength 14 % Total acidity (AT) 6,1 g/l Residual sugars 16 g/l Tasting Eye: clear golden colour of nice intensity with golden glints. The disk is limpid, brilliant, and transparent. Nose: The nose is expressive, pure ; it unveils dominant mineral aromas, flint as well as citrus fruit notes. The airing intensifies the mineral note and the always subjacent fruity touch. The nose is beautiful, great expression of the soil. Rather impressive. Mouth: The first contact is gentle and develops to fleshness, characterized by a slight roundness. The vivacity is frank. Beautiful length in the mouth with 7 caudalies revealing dominant mineral aromas, very complex flint. Very beautiful structure.
