Liebich Wein

Ron and Janet Liebich’s vineyards and winery are located up Steingarten Road above Rowland Flats and uphill from Rockford Winery and Charles Melton Winery which lie just to the north. The Liebich family formerly had a large winery operation which was sold off and Ron has restarted as a small family domaine-bottling vineyard.

The Liebich’s have some of the best situated vines in all of the Barossa, especially a forty acre block of Shiraz planted about forty years ago by Ron’s uncle, C.W. Liebich whose nickname was "The Darkie", because of his jet black hair and the color of his wines. This Shiraz is aged in French Nevers and American oak, bottled unfiltered and represents the finest in Barossa Shiraz in a style harkening back to the rich intense character of wines from the fifties and sixties.
