Jean-Louis Moissenet

Domaine Moissenet-Bonnard

Jean-Louis Moissenet, whose grandfather was Henri Lamarche, owner of La Grande Rue, adjoining La Tache, has the heritage for a vigneron. His vines are in the Cote de Beaune, principally Pommard, and he has started, with the 1996 vintage, to bottle some of his production and sell it under his own label. He has a marvelous gift for capturing the character of each different parcel of Pommard that he owns. Thus, the Charmots, it’s name derived from Charmes, shows the most charm, suppleness, and soft texture; the Villages Pommard is the most robust and rustic; the Pezerolles has the most structure and authority; and the Epenots, adjoining Beaune Epenots, is the most elegant and classy. Moissenet also makes two superb little Bourgognes – the Chardonnay from a parcel below The Route Nationale near Beaune, and a Pinot Noir from a parcel below The Route Nationale near appellation Pommard. Starting with the 1998 vintage, all of reds Moissenet bottles without filtering.
