Whistler Wines
Martin Pfeiffer, his brother Chris and their wives have joined together to plant vines in the Heysen section of the Barossa, adjoining Rolf Binder’s Heysen vineyard. Martin works as a regional vineyard consultant for Penfolds and his extensive experience in viticulture he is putting to practice in one of the finest parcels in the Barossa.
Starting with the 2000 vintage Rolf Binder is vinifying the Whistler red wines and his sister Christa Binder is vinifying the whites. This is an operation that will only continue to improve, with the seriousness of purpose that he Pfeiffer family possesses (by the way Pfeiffer is the German word for Whistler – we seem to have found mostly German descended producers in the Barossa).
