WOGENRAIN GRUENER VELTLINER
2005 Organically grown. Elegant, fragrant, lively Veltliner. Hand-harvested from the ripe stocks surrounding the winery. Varietal: Gruener Veltliner stocks with small amounts of other old varietals in field blend. Site and soil : South-facing terraces and slopes surrounding Gössing. 270-320 m above sea-level. Humus Loess earth. Vinification : Select, ripe grapes were hand-harvested early October 2005 at 16,5-17 degrees KMW, pressed pneumatically, slow fermented with no residual sugar in stainless steel tank. After the first punching down, the wine ripens for 6 weeks in great wooden casks; finally it is filtered with Kieselgur and aged until bottling in stainless steel. Bottled in March 2006 in screwcap bottles: newest method for assuring wine stability and purity. Analysis: 11,5 % alc./vol.dry Serving temperature : about 9 degrees Celsius
