The winemaking history of Vendrell Olivella dates back to the sixteenth century. In the nineteenth century, the Vendrell Family arrived to the Mas Gomà estate working for Bishop Josep Torras i Bages, a Catalan thinker, writer and winemaker. In 1916 Josep Torras i Bages passed away and two years later the Vendrell family bought the whole estate. In 2009, Joan Manel, together with his son, Joan (Jr), realized his dream to produce his own long-aging cavas from the Mas Gomà estate.
